This policy explains how ENOTEP UK LTD trading as Pettone (Pettone, we, us or our) uses cookies and similar technologies on pettone.co.uk.
It should be read with our Privacy Policy. You can change your choices at any time using the Cookie preferences link in the Website footer.
1. What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small text files placed on a browser or device. They can allow a website to recognise a device, keep a shopping basket working, remember preferences, protect accounts, measure use or support advertising.
Similar technologies include pixels, tags, local storage, software development kits and other methods that store information on, or access information from, a device. References to “cookies” in this policy include those technologies where appropriate.
Cookies may be:
- session cookies, which expire when you close the browser; or
- persistent cookies, which remain for a set period or until deleted.
A technology is first-party when it is set or accessed through pettone.co.uk. It is third-party when another domain sets or accesses it. Shopify may provide technologies in either context.
2. How we use cookies
The Website may use the following categories:
| Category | What it does | Consent approach |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Operates essential parts of the shop and checkout, such as a basket, requested login, privacy choice, security or transmission function | Used without consent only to the extent that the technology is objectively essential to transmit the service or provide a feature you expressly requested. Any measurement, optimisation or other non-exempt purpose is classified separately and subject to the applicable choice |
| Preferences / functionality | Remembers optional choices and provides enhanced Website features | Used only with consent unless the specific technology qualifies for a legal exception |
| Analytics / performance | Helps us understand visits, page use, errors and Website performance so that we can improve the service | Used only after the consent required by law has been obtained |
| Advertising / targeting | Measures campaigns, limits repeated adverts, builds audiences or supports advertising based on Website activity | Used only after consent |
| Embedded third-party content | Allows optional content or features from providers such as maps, video or social media; those providers may recognise your device | Used only after consent where required |
3. Current cookie details
Our consent-management tool contains the current list of cookies and similar technologies detected on the Website, including their provider, purpose, category and duration. Open Cookie preferences in the Website footer and select the detailed cookie list to review it.
At our latest review, the Website used or loaded services supplied by:
- Shopify and Shop Pay for the storefront, basket, checkout, customer account, security, privacy preferences and platform analytics. Shopify Network Intelligence is currently enabled and may support personalisation, service improvement and advertising-related enhanced services; non-essential uses are subject to the consent choices described below;
- Google Maps to display our location on the homepage;
- Cloudlift for customer file-upload functionality used with relevant personalised products;
- BirdChime / Simple On Time Delivery for collection scheduling; and
- Easify Product Options for product choices and personalisation.
Google Maps is retained as a homepage feature. Where consent is required, the map will not load until you choose to allow the relevant third-party content or select Load map. Google may then receive information such as your IP address, browser/device information, the referring page and your interaction with the map under Google’s own privacy terms.
The list may change when Shopify or another Website feature is updated. We review the list periodically and update our controls when we introduce a provider or use a technology for a new purpose.
Shopify provides the ecommerce platform and sets technologies needed to operate functions such as the basket, checkout, customer account, security and privacy preferences. Where Shopify Network Intelligence is enabled, Shopify states that a refusal of non-essential cookies recorded through Shopify's banner prevents the affected device data from being used through that feature for non-essential purposes.
More information is available in Shopify's cookie information at https://www.shopify.com/legal/cookies, its Consumer Privacy Policy at https://www.shopify.com/legal/privacy/consumers, and its rights and consent portal at https://privacy.shopify.com/.
4. Your choices
When you first visit, our consent tool allows you to accept, reject or choose between non-essential categories. Rejecting optional cookies must be as easy as accepting them.
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time:
- select Cookie preferences in the Website footer;
- switch optional categories on or off; and
- save your choice.
Withdrawal does not affect use that was lawful before you changed your choice. When you withdraw consent, we stop setting or accessing the relevant optional technologies. Where technically possible, we also delete first-party optional cookies already stored; browser controls may be needed to remove third-party cookies already stored.
You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent the basket, checkout, login or security features from working properly. Browser controls may not remove every form of similar technology, so use our Website controls as well.
5. Legal basis
Where the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations require consent to store information on or access information from your device, we ask for consent before doing so.
We use strictly necessary technologies without consent only where a legal exception applies. Where information collected through a technology is personal information, our Privacy Policy explains the corresponding data-protection lawful basis.
6. Third parties
Where you consent to a third-party feature, the named provider may receive information such as your IP address, device identifiers, pages viewed and interaction with the feature. The provider may combine it with information it already holds in accordance with its own privacy notice.
The identity and purpose of each active third party should be shown in our detailed cookie list before you give consent. Links to a third-party website or social-media page do not mean that Pettone controls that provider’s use of information after you leave our Website.
7. Updates
We may update this policy when technologies, providers or legal requirements change. We will post the revised version and update the date above. If a change materially affects an existing consent, we will ask you to choose again where required.
